South Florida (Miami) Chapter

The South Florida Chapter of American Pilgrims is centered on Miami. The purpose of local chapters is to keep members connected to the Camino and to introduce new people to the phenomenon. We plan to accomplish this in a number of ways, such as social events, walks, mentoring future pilgrims and possibly serving as a local host for hospitalero training through American Pilgrims. 

  • To offer opportunities for local pilgrims to gather and hold events related to the Camino.
  • To mentor future pilgrims, promote the pilgrimage and American Pilgrims through social gatherings.
  • To serve as a local host for hospitalero training in the Miami area.
The chapter will be scheduling walks, talks, potlucks and much more! These will be listed here but you may also want to check the Local and Regional Events page for other events that may be of interest. KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA
Second Sunday Walk and End of Year Potluck Picnic
Sunday, December 9, 2018, Walk at 9:00 AM, Picnic immediately after the walk, around 11:00 AM

The South Florida Chapter's December walk will take place in Key Biscayne. We will meet at Shelter D17 inside Bill Baggs Park at 1200 S. Crandon Boulevard, Key Biscayne, FL 33149. We'll then walk through the park and towards the Key Biscayne Village and back for approximately five to six miles.

The End of Year Potluck Picnic begins immediately after the walk, at shelter D17. We ask that each person bring a dish (main dish, appetizer, dessert) or non-alcoholic beverage to share with the group. We will have a few grills at our disposal so burgers, hot dogs and charcoal are also a good idea.

Please RSVP through [email protected] and let us know if you will be attending, if you are bringing a guest and what you will be bringing.

The park entrance fee is $8 per car (2-8 people), $4 per car (one occupant only), or $2 for people entering the park on foot. You will be given a receipt. Please hang onto it as you will need it to re-enter the park on our way back from the Village. As always, this is a rain or shine event.
