South Florida (Miami) Chapter

The South Florida Chapter of American Pilgrims is centered on Miami. The purpose of local chapters is to keep members connected to the Camino and to introduce new people to the phenomenon. We plan to accomplish this in a number of ways, such as social events, walks, mentoring future pilgrims and possibly serving as a local host for hospitalero training through American Pilgrims.

  • To offer opportunities for local pilgrims to gather and hold events related to the Camino.
  • To mentor future pilgrims, promote the pilgrimage and American Pilgrims through social gatherings.
  • To serve as a local host for hospitalero training in the Miami area.

The chapter will be scheduling walks, talks, potlucks and much more! These will be listed here but you may also want to check the Local and Regional Events page for other events that may be of interest. To be added to the chapter mailing list, click HERE. For other information, please contact chapter coordinators Jackie Michelini, Hilda Cuglievan and Rosa Torres-Tumazos at [email protected]. We're always looking for chapter members to plan and lead hikes or to organize other events. If you would like to pitch in, please contact Jackie, Hilda or Rosa at [email protected].

You can always contact the chapter through [email protected] to find out what we're doing!

Second Sunday Walk
Sunday, April 14, 2019, 8:00 - 11:00 AM

For our Second Sunday Walk in April, the South Florida Chapter has a new walk - the route is courtesy of fellow pilgrim Jerry Chua. We will meet at Sullivan's Park at 8:00 AM (1633 Riverview Rd, Deerfield Beach, FL 33441). There is free parking for the first four (4) hours. We will walk from Sullivan Park and loop back. The walk will be mainly on asphalt, concrete and sand (on the beach), between 5 to 6 miles in length. As always it is advisable to bring a hat, sunscreen, bug repellent and water. And as always, this is a rain or shine event and there is no need to RSVP.
