Kansas City Chapter

The Kansas City Chapter of American Pilgrims serves the metropolitan Kansas City area, including Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas. Broadly stated, the purpose of this local chapter is to keep members connected to the Camino and to introduce new people to the phenomenon. We plan to accomplish this in a number of ways, such as social events, hikes, mentoring future pilgrims and serving as a local host for hospitalero training through American Pilgrims.

The chapter will be scheduling local hikes, talks, potlucks, a lending library of Camino related books, and more! These will be listed here but you may also want to check the Local Events page for other events that may be of interest. Contact chapter coordinators Kim Callow and Dana Ballentine at [email protected] for more information or to be added to the chapter e-mail list.

PARKVILLE, MISSOURI
Walk in the Parkville Nature Sanctuary Followed by Camino conviviality and conversation
Saturday, October 13, 2018, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

The Kansas City Chapter of American Pilgrims invites you to join us on our monthly hike. We will meet at the Parkville Nature Sanctuary in Parkville, Missouri at the main entrance, located at 12th Street off Highway 9, down the hill from the Platte County Health Department.

This Sanctuary is a wildlife preserve and educational site developed and maintained by the City of Parkville, MO, with help from many volunteers. Our hike will be a beautiful 3-mile trek on mostly flat terrain with a few uphills on crushed gravel and packed dirt surface. Sorry, but dogs are not allowed in the Sanctuary nor on American Pilgrims events per association insurance requirements.

You may want to bring hiking poles and plenty of water. This is a rain or shine event.

After the hike, we have been invited to the home of one of our members in Parkville, Missouri, for food, drink and Camino conversation. The specific address will be provided upon receiving your RSVP.

We look forward to seeing you.
