Announcing New Membership Levels!

What makes the Camino de Santiago so special? Each one of us has experienced the magic of the Camino. Maybe it was a special connection with a complete stranger, maybe it was an unexpected kindness, or maybe it was revelation at the end of a particularly difficult day.
As pilgrims, we know that the end of the physical path in Santiago is only the beginning of a more enduring Camino… a Camino that represents a way of life. As such, we look for opportunities to connect and give back. Maintaining membership in American Pilgrims is an active way to continue your Camino.
We launched the Lifetime Membership category at the beginning of 2017, and we are so grateful for all of you who have made that commitment. Many pilgrims make additional donations along with the membership dues. To recognize this generosity, we are now offering three household levels:
          • $75: Friends of the Camino (Up to 4 total household members; Renewable annually)
          • $150: Pilgrims on the Way (Up to 4 total household members; Renewable annually)
          • $250: St. James Society (Up to 4 total household members; Renewable annually)
Our Student ($15) and Individual ($50) memberships have not changed.

When your current membership expires, please consider renewing at a higher level. If you now or in the past have ever had a membership, you’ll have to contact Membership@americanpilgrims.org to convert your membership level.

THE NUMBERS FOR 2017!

It's that time of year again! The time to take a look at the numbers for 2017. Here they are: 301,006. 5.8%. 1.04. 2017 saw the Pilgrim Office awarding more than 300,000 credentials for the first time. 301,006 to be precise. The percent of the total awarded to U.S. passport holders climbed to the all-time high of 5,8%. And the ratio of men to women continued its steady decline, ending at 1.04. It's our prediction that parity - an equal number of men and women - will be reached in 2018. Just to indicate how that has changed, in 1995 there were 2 men for every woman.
